Its Spring Time!

Hello Everyone:

I know it has been well over a month since I last updated all of you on the goings on of the Newby Family, but things have been extremely crazy and stressful I will admit I haven't had the time.

Oh well, everything seems to be working itself out and things are slowly going from insane back to crazy like it usually is around here. Lets see, where do I begin? Hmmmm....

Kendrick:
My wonderful oldest son has developed the art of standing on his head and climbing up shelves to get what he wants lol. He is 3 1/2 going on 20 I swear. He has also developed an attitude that is out of this world! I am trying to work with him on it but we haven't had a whole lot of success yet. Otherwise he is growing like a weed and developing as he should. He LOVES school, even on the weekends he wants to go to school and gets mad at me when I tell him he can't. Right now he is pretending to be Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story, and truly believes he can fly if he wants to. I love my imaginitive little boy, and am doing my best to let him explore and create with that imagination.

Bryton:
My beautiful red headed child, after eight long months, finally got a hair cut. Cutting off all of his cute curls was hard for me. He is still handsome though hehe. Bryton has slowly started showing an interest in potty training in the last week or so. But he has the same fear of the toilet that Kendrick had when he started potty training. Our goal with Bryton is to have him potty trained by his 3rd birthday (in October). He is doing really well in daycare. His teacher has them doing all kinds of arts and crafts and he is always bringing stuff home for Mommy to put up. He is speaking really well but he has a little bit of a speach problem that has me a little concerned. I'm hoping it is just a phase, but if it doesnt start to go away within the next couple of months as he grow I believe we will be asking the doctor for some advice on clearing up his speach.

Sadie:
My Sadie bug is 9 months old! In the last month she has gotten three teeth, she has started crawling, and she is starting to eat some table foods. She is sooo big! Sadie is very well liked at daycare by her teacher, and she always has a smile on her face when she goes in. She loves to be around the other babies and to play all day. I can't believe that in 2 1/2 months Sadie will be 1 year old! I am starting to think about what theme to do for her big birthday bash! Trust me there will be plenty of pictures posted on facebook when that happens.

The Adults:
The hubby and I are doing well. Working really hard on school and the other activities we are apart of. We went through a very stressful situtation a few weeks back and we are working on being closer as a couple. :-) Life is good right now and I thank God everyday for that.
I have completed one of my classes for the spring semester early. I am very proud of myself for that. There are only a few short weeks left of the spring semester left and then we move on to the summer semester. I swear we live at school more than we live at home! lol. It's okay though, we are working towards our dreams and I will spend as much time at school as I need to to be able to get what I want to accomplish done.

Well I do believe that this is a pretty good update. I don't believe I have forgotten anything. I hope everyone enjoys their wonderful spring as we will.

A New Year

Hello my dear friends and family. I know it has been ages since I have posted any updates but let me tell you it has been absolutely insane the last couple of months! Midterms and finals and working and kids and spouse! We have been running around like crazy!
Well, let me fill you in on everything that has been going on.

After a long first semester we survived by the skin on our teeth! I do have to brag and say that I made ALL A's my first semester and I am very proud of myself for an awesome comeback after 5 years of no school haha. The hubby did okay, although I dont think he was truly prepared for the culture shock of being back in school like I was. Thats okay, he will ROCK spring semester and keep his head high!

Kendrick and Bryton are loving daycare and doing extremely well. They are learning so much and getting so smart and before we know it they will be smarter than their parents haha.
Sadie started daycare the week after Christmas. Of course I went through the typical "my baby is starting daycare" freak out lol but Sadie is doing great in daycare! I am very excited and proud of my three beautiful children and all they have learned and experienced in the last year. I am proud to be their mother.

As the new year begins, so does a new semester, a new learning experience, and new chapter in our lives. I hope and pray that this year brings lots of wonderful things and few obsticles in our careers and lives.

This isn't a very long update but I believe it about covers everything for now. I shall try to update monthly with all of the new and wonderful experiences that the family embraces.

Keep the Faith!

Update on the Newby Family

I know it has been forever since I posted anything but I have been SO busy since school started.

Kendrick and Bryton are really enjoying daycare! It feels like every time I pick them up they get smarter and smarter and grow more and more. I miss being able to spend every day with them but I am very pleased with the care they are getting at the daycare and would recommend it to any one who is in need of one! Kendrick is fully potty trained (except throughout the night time) and Bryton thinks he is ready to start potty training. I love my boys they are so smart and cute and have such great imaginations. Brytons 2nd birthday is in two weeks! EEK! I can't believe he is going to be 2!!!

Sadie is HUGE now! She is such an angel, and a good baby! Her Great-grandma Dot usually watches her throughout the week (and sometimes on the weekend lol). Its good for Grandma Dot to be able to enjoy Sadie like she has been. Mom gets her usually one day a week depending on what all is going on and if Grandma has plans. She will be 4 months old on the 10th! Before we know it she will be a year old and running around with the boys!

Leslie is doing well. He is working weekends at a Bar and Grill called "the Watering Hole" He is a cook and he enjoys it. He is also the student worker for the guy in charge of the HCC T.V. channel on cable. He is learning to be the camera man and he is being learning how to direct. He is really enjoying it. He is doing really well in school and even though I know I don't tell him enough I am very proud of him for sticking with it and getting into some stuff that he enjoys doing. I don't know grades on tests or anything (cause he hasn't told me lol) I just know he is doing really well and I am proud of my hubby!

I am working my butt off! It seems like a lot in one day. I get up and get everyone ready, take the boys to daycare and Sadie to Grandma Dots, then I go to class and the rest of the day is reserved for homework and running errands. Sometimes the hubby and I get to sneak away from a nice lunch just the two of us and catch up on our week which is wonderful! I have a little working gig once a week I go to Walgreen's and work on some greeting cards for Papyrus Recycled Greeting (owned by American Greetings) its a fun little job and I enjoy it. Starting Monday (Oct 4th) I am going to be working at the college in the admissions building helping people with computer questions and helping people register for their classes and such. Its going to be great! I can not wait to be back in the working field! And I will get to be around PEOPLE!!!! WOOHOO! I am excited! So far (keeping fingers crossed) I have made ALL A's on my tests! I am so incredibly proud of myself! I really didn't think I was going to be this good lol but I always manage to surprise myself hehe.

Another crazy thing that has happened. Our Landlord came over a few days ago to discuss a leak we had and we were talking about when our lease will be up and he offered to SELL us the house! I was floored!! I couldn't believe what he was offering. Whether we will buy it or not I don't know, we haven't talked about it as much as we should and we haven't talked to the landlord since he made the offer. It was incredible though. I would LOVE to own this house. I absolutely LOVE it. It only needs a couple of minor things done and one major thing done to it to make it more energy efficient. I don't know, it is an amazing offer and the price is great I just don't know if we could really afford it. Oh well, if this is what God wants for us it will all work out.

Well I think that's all the news and updates on the Newby Family. I am going to try and do if not a weekly, a monthly update kind of like a newsletter deal to let everyone know how we are doing and whats new in the world of Newby!
Every one take care and have a good weekend!

School Days

Is it sad that I actually feel 23 now?
I mean having three kids to take care of on a daily basis (which I love) has made me feel so old and unattractive.
Since starting my classes yesterday, I actually feel like I'm 23 and not 83. I am loving it! I just finished my 4th class this afternoon and I am so ready for more classes tomorrow (even though tomorrow is just math).

The boys are doing good in daycare. Yesterday was really hard on Bryton because he has never been away from me like that. The poor thing did NOT like me last night after my night class (which he spent with his mamaw) until we gave him an ice cream sandwich lol. Nothing like a little sweetness to make a little one happy again.

Kendrick on the other hand LOVED going to daycare (or school as he calls it) when I dropped him off yesterday morning his class was outside playing. He took off as soon as he saw the swings and slides. I had to repeatedly ask him for a kiss before I would leave lol.
This morning Kendrick threw a little fit but not bad. I think if they had been outside again he would have been fine but thats ok. He needs to just get used to being dropped off in his room.
Bryton surprised me by NOT throwing a fit when I left this morning (could have something to do with the fact that he didn't see me leave the room lol)

Sadie spent time with Grandma yesterday and with her great grandma today.

I can't wait to go get my boys from daycare and love on them and make them a yummy dinner tonight!
This takes a lot of getting used to but I really think we will all benefit from this in the end.

Well thats all for today I need to buckle down and get some reading done. I have a 300 word essay due thursday on a bunch of random useless issues lol.
write more when I have the time.
Peace!

I'm a Nerd

Well its official! I am a college student and I start my classes on Monday!!! WOOHOO go me!

I am so ridiculously excited its insane! I'm taking Pre-Algebra (blah) and Computers (which will be a breeze) and Human Services Survey which I have no clue about, its kind of like an introduction to my major, and Strategies for Academic Success, which is a mandatory class that I have to take. So I have a full schedule, tomorrow we go get our books and supplies and this weekend I get to do LAUNDRY lol.

The boys start their daycare Monday also, which is fun. I will probably cry lol.
My boys are growing up so fast, its sad.

Sadie went to the doctor today for her 2 month check up. She is 10lbs 13oz and almost 22in long. The doctor was extremely pleased with how active she is and how well she is holding her head up and everything.
We get to start her on baby food next month, and when she is 13lbs we start putting cereal in her bottles. Its crazy to think she is ALREADY ready for baby food!! It feels like I JUST had her still :-( It is insane how fast your kids grow up man. Before I know it she will be 1 and walking. ahhh  I think I am going to cry now lol.

Well those are the updates....will write more when I have more to share!
Peace!

Ramblings

Well one week from today my husband and I start school, I'm excited and a little nervous.

The boys will be starting daycare for the first time ever in their lives (aside from the nursery at church) and I am a little nervous about that my boys are quite spoiled and not used to being around other children their age (at least not a lot of kids their ages).
I am sure they  will be fine as they love people and love to play. Sadie will be going to moms which I am not worried about at all hehe.
Tomorrow I go for my compass test that I have to retake so I can schedule my classes on Wednesday.

Wednesday is Sadie's two month appointment at the doctor. I can not wait to see how big she is and everything. We also go and schedule our classes and get our books and supplies. I am so excited to get a hoodie! The college hoodies are the most comfortable sweatshirts in the WORLD! I know its pathetic to be excited about a sweatshirt but what can I say? I'm a dork all the way around lol.

Thursday we go for Brytons hearing test to see if he still has fluid in his ear after his one and only ear infection back in May. If he still has fluid he will more than likely have to get tubes in his ears to drain the fluid and all that fun jazz. I am NOT looking forward to that :-/

Friday Sadie has to have her first set of shots, poor baby. Bryton also has to get one more shot before he can go to daycare. Shots are the worst part. I hate seeing my kids in pain, and having to be somewhat cold hearted so I can make it through them is horrible to me. Oh well, such is life!

As I said a very busy week ahead as the excitement is getting bigger about starting school, so is the nervous stomach lol. I know that to most people this doesn't matter, but I haven't posted in a while and really haven't had much to write about lately.

OH! I'm a dork!
Bryton is starting his potty training! He wont be 2 until October, and he has been watching Kendrick potty training and has decided that he is a big boy just like his big brother! I am so proud of him. He has gone potty four times in the last 4 days! Hopefully soon we will only be buying diapers for Sadie and that is a HUGE relief on the budget lol.

Well I think I have gotten down all of the new news and such. Thanks for reading my ramblings hehe.
Peace!

An Eye Opening Experience

Today has been a great day and a great experience.

The hubby and I went with other people from our church to the Salvation Army and served lunch to the people who come there and stay there.
People of all ages, from very little kids, to senior citizins. Watching all the people line up as soon as our pastor said it was time to eat and come back for seconds and thirds until almost all the food was gone was just amazing.
In every day life people take things (like meals) for granted, we (myself majorly included) don't take time to appreciate everything and everyone around us.
There are people that are financially stable who don't have to think about where their next meal is going to come from or if they will have a bed to sleep on that night.
There are people who rely on the state and other foundations to help them with the same needs, a roof over their head, food in their kitchen, clothes on their back and things for their kids, like toys and diapers and formula.
Then there are the people and families that aren't so lucky to have either.

I told my husband as we left, if it weren't for our families helping us so much and being so supportive we would have been in that lunch line today.
God has truly blessed us with WONDERFUL and UNDERSTANDING families and I know we take them for granted, this is my way of saying that we love everyone and we are VERY thankful to everyone for what they do for us on a daily basis, and I hope that someday we can repay that kindness.

Just wanted to share this, don't take anything for granted, large or small, look at everything as a blessing and cherish it because in a moment everything could be gone.
Peace!
